As I sit and reflect on the past year, I can only be but in awe of how much the JP21 Project has grown. What we have achieved has been nothing short of remarkable and yet we always think, how can we improve? How can we make more of an impact?
This is no doubt a process and we, as the JP21 Foundation, are well aware that we are not the finished article, in fact you would notice the name change from ‘Project’ to ‘Foundation’. The motivation behind this change is that I want to promote longevity in the work that we are doing and I believe this is a step in the right direction.
If we take a step back to 3 years ago and relook at the vision/goal of the Foundation, namely “to reignite the passion and enthusiasm for the game of cricket in underprivileged schools and communities, to promote a positive and healthy lifestyle” , this still remains our prime objective. I am eternally grateful to all Directors, Staff, Principals, Teachers, sports coordinators, coaches and parents for their belief and trust in what we aim to achieve. My parents instilled certain values within me that encourages me to continue to serve our community and I certainly hope that I live up to the expectation that comes with this responsibility, a responsibility that’s a true privilege. “Love Thy neighbour as Thyself“
To the kids of our foundation, keep smiling and enjoying this beautiful game and remember what you see in front of you doesn’t have to be your reality. You have the strength to be so much more and we will continue to strive to serve you in the best way possible.
Thanks to all our sponsors and partners that continue to support us on this amazing journey.
We are blessed to have you guys on board and we, at the JP21 Foundation, look forward to an exciting year ahead.

JP21 Golf Day – A hole in One
|
|
|
On 27 March 2018, at the magnificent Pearl Valley Golf Estate, an ever-present and sought-after event took place – the annual JP21 GOLF DAY. It was comfortably our most successful golf day thus far, with the all-round experience at a very high standard.
To top it all off, JP21 Foundation raised in excess of R180 000! An incredible and successful golf day and all thanks to amazing & generous friends of the JP21 Foundation. All funds raised go towards keeping the JP21 kids off the streets and on the pitch

With the new 3 tier league structure, JP21 Foundation is able to accommodate 36 primary schools, however with the water shortages, logistics proved difficult, and we needed to adapt. With a shortened format, we were able to accommodate most schools on the school venues.
BOXER SPONSORSHIP OF SCHOOL EQUIPMENT
Cascades, Beacon View, AZ Berman, and Hyacinth Primary all received brand new cricket sets thanks to the generosity of our partner boxer, |

JP21 Sixes Cricket Fest at Iconic PPC Newlands
|
|
|
PPC Newlands played host to our annual cricket 6ixes festival on the 14th of April.
The festival is a celebration and conclusion of the first school term of cricket. It is an opportunity to for the Foundation to say thank you to the schools and their commitment, it is realising dreams for many of these learners, and players get the opportunity to play on the turf, experience new surroundings and make new friends.
It is also an opportunity for our sponsors to engage our beneficiary base. The sixes festival is open to all participating schools in the JP21 LEAGUE. We encourage teachers, parents and the general public to witness the expressions of kids and their interaction with one another.
Over 1000 people were in attendance, 8 games showcased, mini cricket festival, KFC play area, music, and meal provisions were made for all teachers and kids that participated that day.
Celebrating in victory, kids received trophies, and schools received shopping vouchers from our valued partner, Boxer Superstores. J21 Foundation welcomed guests from the Overberg region, in what was their first time at Newlands. It is in these moments where we are truly humbled and in awe how far this foundation has come, for what was just a dream, the impact now is beyond what was imagined.

Our ever popular KFC MINI CRICKET PROGRAMME, started slowly, but gathered momemtum with 2 festivals at PPC NEWLANDS, fast becoming the foundations second home, and just recently 15 teachers attended a 4 day mini cricket course.

FROM THE DESK OF THE JP21 FOUNDATION
|
|
|
The first half of the year had many challenges and yielded some great successes.
To sustain and grow a programme of this size, funding will always be on top of its agenda and with this foundation and its programs there are no exceptions. Whilst we continue to grow our brand and continue to play an important role in the social advances of learners in vulnerable societies, this foundation will always be looking for partners to walk a path with us in meeting the sporting and social needs of our learners.
We are proud of our achievements,. The JP21 Foundation has been acknowledged and received a Ministerial Award by the social development ministers office and we have welcomed a new partner in BOXER SUPERETTE into our programme.
Looking ahead at glance; we are extremely excited by what is instore. We will be announcing a new partner and new structures to ensure that the quality of what we do is enhanced and to further add value to our learners lives.
Please keep your eye on our new website that will be launched soon!
We appreciate the efforts of all stakeholders and importantly, we must acknowledge our staff in working in sometimes difficult terrains but always making sure the job gets done!
We look forward to the plans set out and achieving results, where more opportunities are created, more minds are being inspired and doing our bit to help change lives!
