JP21 Project and Mitchells Plain Titans Athletics Club forges partnership to host annual race, “BY THE COMMUNITY FOR THE COMMUNITY”

The JP21 Project has officially partnered with the MP TITANS ATHLETICS CLUB in hosting its 9TH annual 21km, 10km and Fun Run on 19 November 2016. The Theme for this year race is, “TOGETHER WE CAN”. Together with Mitchells Plain Titans Athletics Club the aim is to put the race back on the map. “It speaks towards what we want to achieve in the community of Mitchells Plain and Strandfontein.”

We are more than just a cricket program, we want to unite people from all walks of life, build inclusive communities and we want to further communicate our own message of hope, changing lives, growing champions” says founder and SA Cricketer JP Duminy.

The Race forms part of the 2016 WPA Coca Cola league Challenge and takes place on the 19th November at Rocklands Sports Complex. It is a day filled with amazing experiences and great views, as we run through neighborhoods, beach fronts which are unique to Mitchells Plain, we see people come out of their homes in support of the runners. The race will reflect the community’s heritage, their uniqueness, togetherness and their struggles.

Our goal is to holistically improve the race experience, maintain the uniqueness of the race and increase race entries. For the first time in the races history online entries will be available.

Titans Club Chairperson Kervin Petersen, says “We are excited by what lies ahead, and very proud of this event, the race draws big support from all over the Western Cape and Boland areas. We recently celebrated our 10th anniversary as a club and expect big things from our partnership and this race”.
